Absolutely right.

I also noticed a big change in the zeitgeist during that time period. It used to be we had political differences but could sort of get along online. But somewhere between 2012 and 2015, all of a sudden everything went political. I used to love Cracked.com, but during that window it stopped being funny. It was just angry rants about "racism" and "homophobia". There was an entire episode of Law and Order SVU that consisted of Benson ranting about "transphobia" and "hate". That show became unwatchable, along with several others. That's also when comedy died.

Solid article Matt, you brought some stuff that I didn't know to my attention.

I am left wondering to what extent is the assent of any public figures in recent years organic? This goes beyond music/film celebrities, politicians, but also popular twitter, youtube, tictok, Instagram content creators. They may not individually be working with intelligence agencies but they are almost certainly being inorganically promoted because their message/tone serves the interests of the powers at be.

It may just be as simple as divide and conquer via bottlenecking the population online into specific identities that become distrusting/hateful of their fellow citizens. This stuff plays out ad nauseum with “women vs men” “right vs left” “socialists vs capitalists” “gays vs straights” “freedom supporters vs big govt supporters” “whites vs minorities” “boomers vs younger generation” “Jews vs Gentiles“ “nationalists vs open borders” ETC…

The Trump is LITERALLY HITLER artificial theatre (generated by AI content on social media/with traditional media providing “official” cover) served to create division among friends and families. What we witnessed with the Corona medical theatre took it up a notch as it was now literally creating the conditions where the population had to take a potential death jab or lose the freedom to work/move around as a “free” citizen.

The implications for the future are extremely dystopian since more people’s life is being spent online, then the online world will continue to influence how people are in the real world. Most of the population will lack the skeptical/critical view to see how they are being manipulated. The rise of weird sexual behaviors, general fatness, slovenly appearance, and NPC drones are a by product of how the internet has “broken” parts of society, particularly the youth.

More concerning is people who can see through this, are increasingly going to have to deal with these broken manipulated people as coworkers, family members and in other social settings. And while it may be possible to be more careful of who you decide to spend time with, that solution won’t work for the fake internet generating continuous manufactured “crises” that will result in a loss to your freedom and economic solvency .
